  • How to Recognize a Natural Gas Leak
    • Smell
      • Distinctive, strong odour often compared to rotten eggs or sulphur.
    • Listen
      • Whistling, hissing or roaring sound.
    • Look
      • Persistent bubbling in still water.
      • Discoloured or dead vegetation around the pipeline area.
      • Slight mist of ice.
      • A sudden and unexplained increase in gas consumption.
      • Damaged gas pipe, loose connections
      • Natural Gas being lighter than air always tends to accumulate in corner or loft, look for any such possibilities

  • What to do if you find leakage
    • Open all doors and Windows.
    • Turn off the gas tap
    • Turn off the Meter control valve.
    • Turn off the riser isolation valve.
    • Do not switch on or off any electrical switch.
    • Extinguish all naked flames .
